Antique Chair Restoration and French Polishing
Over the past year at Jewett Carpentry we’ve created relationships with different tradesmen throughout Derbyshire and Staffordshire, one of which is Clark Interiors in brailsford.
We’ve been working very closely with Ian Clark of Clark Interiors restoring and reupholstering chairs from Victorian balloon back chairs to captain’s chairs, even strengthening old sofa arm chair’s for reupholstery. The job that kick started the relationship between businesses being Victorian chairs from Tideswell which had been in a gentleman’s family for many years. The chairs were stripped, restored using original materials, animal glue etc.. then upholstered with leather cow hide and fully French polished. We made sure that these beautiful Victorian Chairs were back with the family to use over Christmas.
